I woke up at 5:30am (Australia time). In Malaysia is 3:30am. This is crazy. We have to be at the tour agent’s place in the city at 6:45am because the bus depart at 6:45am to Mt Buller. It’s freezing cold in the morning. We can’t afford to walk there so we took the tram. But we didn’t pay for the tram ride. Hehehehe… luckily there is no ticket inspector. If not we will be fined few hundred dollars. Phew!
It’s a pretty long journey up to Mt Buller. We made a stop at Midfields to hire our ski stuff. We hired a set of clothes, ski boots, ski poles and gloves. The total hire cost $70 and we paid for the ski school to teach us how to ski cost another $68. And not forgetting the bus ride to Mt Buller which also cost around $70. So in total I spend bout $200 which means bout RM600 just for skiing. Whoa. That’s a lot of money.
And the best thing is, the ski stuff is so heavy and the weather in Mt Buller is pretty bad. It’s snowing in Mt Buller. It’s so painful when it hit your face. Furthermore I don’t have beanie and my hair is all wet and so is my face. It’s so hard to wear the ski boots and moving with the ski. I’m so clumsy that I fell God knows how many times. But I can assure you that it is less than 10 times. Hahahaha..
At first I really had a difficult time to move with the ski on. But after the ski school, I manage to ski by myself with lesser struggle. It’s not that bad after all. But it’s really freezing cold up there. I guess we went up on a wrong day.
I was so tired when I got back. I could hardly feel my legs and toes. My arms are aching because you use more of your arm than your leg. I can’t wait to go home and have a nice shower since the clothes and boots we hire stinks. Yuck! But it is once in a lifetime experience. We left Mt Buller around 4:30pm and reach back to the city around 8:30pm. I still have time to go shopping after that since its shopping day where Friday, the shops closes at 9pm instead of 6pm.
